Onna Lene Elmy

Onna Lene Elmy, 87, of Grayling, MI., passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015. Onna was born in Flint MI on July 1st, 1927, a daughter of the late Corrine (Legan) and Omer Adams. She married Leslie R. Elmy December 7th 1946, they resided and raised their family in Pontiac Michigan until 1971 when they made their home in Grayling. Onna was retired from the Crawford County Commission of Aging where she had worked as a cook. After Onna and Les retired they traveled the U.S. for several years while keeping a home in Grayling. After Leslie passed away in 2001, Onna continued to travel and stay active with the help and support of Ann Doty and several other friends. Onna enjoyed many activities from gardening to swimming. She enjoyed being a part of the Community of Christ Church and she loved being with family and friends. Survived by her children: James Elmy of Pontiac; Christine Elmy of Bay City; Kelly Elmy and wife Michelle of Grayling; Lorena Thompson and husband Jim of Pennsylvania; and Bonnie Bauer and husband Michael of Arizona. Grandchildren: Jenny Sredich, Shawna Elmy, Tracy Elmy, Aaron Elmy, Cary Elmy, Nathan Elmy, Derek Elmy, Seth Elmy, Valerie Wheeler, Andrea Liberty, Alexis Ashton, Cody Elmy, Mckenzie Bauer, Leslie Thompson and 10 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in Death by her husband Leslie R. Elmy, son John D. Elmy, parents, brothers and sisters. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
