Once upon a time . . .

Europe was the center of the Christian faith. They were largely responsible for speading Christianity to the rest of the world. But something awful happened along the way. Rules began replacing Relationship. Formality began replacing Friendship. Tradition began replacing Trust. And Religion replaced Jesus.

Now the 3rd most atheist country in the world and virtually un-reached (0.6% Christian), our missions work in the Czech Republic is focused on grass-roots church planting ministries where the people of the Czech Republic are once again able to hear the relational message of Christ in neighborhood homes, coffee shops and local church communities. Discipling and equipping leaders as we go, our vision is to see an indigenous Christ-centered movement catch fire throughout Czech Republic and the greater continent of Europe.

Remedy International Church.

Our missions work finds us in the town of Poděbrady - a university town of about 13,000 people half-an-hour outside of Prague. Under the guidance of national church leader, Tomas Mojzis; Remedy International Church was born after evolving from several community programs engaging the numerous youth and young adults in Poděbrady.

Now with a solid core of developing student leaders, our main focus is coming alongside Remedy Church to help continue discipling these young leaders while working towards transitioning Remedy into a multi-generational church.

Many people are surprised to learn that Europe is a missions field in such need, but it's true. As the historical church began to lose its focus on actively spreading the good news of Christ, people began to become disillusioned and embittered with what resulted - a governing entity steeped in rules, rituals and traditions. The communist era from 1948-1989 was all that was needed to complete Czech's transition to one of the most atheist countries in the world today. Presently, the spiritual landscape of Czech is one rooted in 3 or 4 generations of staunch atheism, and there is often minimal understanding of what being a Christian truly means.

Hope.

Jesus told a parable about sowing seeds on different types of soil. We are happy to report that the once, rocky soil in Czech is starting to become fertile again! In this last year alone, multiple students and young adults made a decision to follow Christ and were baptized; summer and winter camps were a great success with several students requesting Bibles, while also being able to hear public testimonies of faith from other students; and special community events put on by the missions team have been attended by upwards of 70-80 people! Through it all, the missions team reports that even with an ingrained atheist mind-set, there is a hunger for God and sense of a greater purpose in life in the people of Czech Republic!

There is work waiting to be done . . . Partners needed!
