I work with a lot of people who don’t have a lot of experience in front of the camera and I absolutely love that challenge. It’s all about being able to make them feel comfortable & directing them so they aren’t confused or aren’t sure what to do. This often has to be done in a very short time (5-10mins) as to allow the client to maximize their time. This shoot was not like that though…

Peggi is someone very special to me. One of the first trips I made to Toronto I was connected with her and she was extremely encouraging and gave me a chance to work with some of her models (she runs an agency there). Now, let me be clear here, I had virtually zero experience working with models. I just needed someone to give me a chance and I’m so incredibly thankful for the chance she gave me.

Catherine and Gab’s mom contacted me to purchase a shoot for them. I love these emails. I love mothers, husbands, wives, sister, grandparents who reach out to buy a shoot for someone they love. Someone who is incredibly beautiful to them, inside and out, and someone who they want to see in themselves what others see in them. Some people just don’t realize the power of photography and what it can do for you. The confidence and what it can do for your self-image is astounding. What you don’t see when you look at these images are the smiles, the giddiness when they see themselves in the photos and the confidence these kind of shoots create. I don’t sell photos, I sell confidence. I want you to look at these images, post these images, whatever you want to do and see a confident person who is beautiful inside and out.

For the last few years I have had the pleasure of doing the photography for The Friends Of The Moncton Hospital campaigns along side the wonderful people at Hawk! It is something I greatly look forward to shooting every year. This past year Hawk wanted to showcase the people. The people that this campaign helps, the ones who have needed the help and continue to. We were fortunate to sit with these amazing people and listen to their stories. They were quite emotional days but the one common factor in all these people is their positivity. It’s incredibly amazing to talk with people who have been through such hard times and to see them being so positive. It was beyond inspirational and I felt so lucky to be there while they shared their stories.
