Manitoba Coalition for Safer Waters

Manitoba Coalition for Safer Waters logo - sister organization to Lifesaving SocietyThe Manitoba Coalition for Safer Waters was formed in 1996 following an inquest into several drowning deaths at Manitoba beaches in 1995.

The recommendation was for organizations with a vested interest in water safety meet at least once a year to identify gaps and opportunities to promote water safety education.

The Coalition consists of close to 50 groups and is always welcoming new members.  It facilitates the Lifejacket Loaner Program and a Community Water Safety Grant program for the Province of Manitoba.

Lifesaving Society Manitoba acts as the group’s Secretariat.
