Artsy Trivia Night is almost here!! We are thrilled to introduce our host, the one & only Clarah Germain!

Clarah Germain comes from a long family tradition in the hotel & restaurant industry that started back in the 1950s in Quebec City. As Director of Guest Experience for Germain Hotels, she helps teams nationwide offer guests the warmest, kindest hotel experience possible.

Clarah has always been involved in her community and finds ways to give back wherever she can. Her warm, empathetic and spirited personality reflects a true passion for people and relationship building.

Trivia Night is THIS THURSDAY, May 9 from 7-10pm at Eastern Edge! Tickets are just $5 (to help us fundraise for our 40th anniversary summer celebrations!). We’ve got round prizes from five fabulous local businesses, plus the GRAND PRIZE: a night’s stay for 2 at the Alt Hotel + $25 each towards breakfast at Terre! 📣 We are now accepting submissions for our Annual Members’ Exhibition!!! 📣 This is your opportunity as a member of Eastern Edge to showcase your work alongside other members of our talented community. We want to see what you have been making!

This year, the Members’ Exhibition Silent Auction is back by popular demand! Participating artists have the option to put their pieces up for auction, with 50% of the sale going to the artist, and 50% going towards supporting Eastern Edge’s year-round programming.

Only one more week remains to see our current exhibitions!! ⏳️ "Transient Maternal" and "Matka Las" are up until Saturday May 11th in the Main and rOGUE galleries. It has been such a pleasure having work by @b.g.osborne @oceanleaving and @lucajesseapel in the space 💞

We're open today from 12-5pm (with a special storytelling event with Luca from 1-3pm!), and next week Wednesday through Saturday, 12-5pm. Be sure to visit before these incredible shows leave us!

Where’d this month go??! We had work by @b.g.osborne and @oceanleaving in the Main Gallery, and @lucajesseapel in the rOGUE. @nadine_baldow joined us as artist-in-residence and gave a sweet artist talk & studio tour. We started planning celebrations for our 40th anniversary(!!) and had a sweet story-sharing afternoon with Marlene Creates. We visited the CNA Print & Pixels grad showcase and @claystudioccnl and won a @cityofstjohns Applause Award for @holdfastfestival 🔥🔥

There’s no telling what May weather will bring, but EE’s upcoming programs are hot! Thanks for being part of our community, we’ll see you soon ❤️

In honour of EE’s 40th birthday, trivia will include zesty questions about Eastern Edge and HOLD FAST Festival, as well as general art history. Compete with a team of friends, or test your knowledge flying solo 😎

This year, as we mark our 40th anniversary, we're also celebrating where we began, how far we've come, and the dedicated community who built this place as we know it today. Special thanks to @ellinglien for loaning us a slide projector (which we... mostly... know how to use!)

"Hi there! I'm Nadine from Germany. As I prepare for my upcoming exhibition opening on May 24th at Eastern Edge, I'm on the lookout for bones. If you have any bones you'd be willing to contribute to my sculptures, I would greatly appreciate your support! Feel free to drop by the EE studio (72 Harbour Drive) for a visit. We can share a coffee, chat, and you can explore my creative process."

Join Nadine in exploring the interplay between self and landscape, and how these encounters shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Following the talk, you are invited to explore her studio space, where she will share discoveries from her Landscape Investigation Newfoundland project.

40 incredible years of art, performance, collaboration, exhibitions, residencies, festivals, and community!

As a part of our anniversary celebrations, we're asking for YOUR help to create a huge collage right on the gallery walls! We're collecting photos, posters, catalogues, old merch, and miscellaneous ephemera from years of EE past. Email us your scans or photocopies, or stop by Eastern Edge and we can help you document your items for inclusion in the collage.

Later this year, we will be hosting a 40th birthday party for EE!! Stay tuned for more exciting updates related to that celebration 👀🎂
