Beginning in 2014, Imperial Oil will be relocating out of Calgary’s downtown core into a new facility in the city’s southeast.

The petroleum giant is set to begin construction of a campus-style complex in Quarry Park.  The 20-acre site will include five low-rise office buildings totaling 800,000 square feet.  The complex is slated to include offices, support facilities and employee amenities and will consolidate staff from Imperial’s downtown offices which are currently housed in several office towers.

“This new campus will provide an opportunity to consolidate our Calgary offices in one location, offer additional space for our growing workforce and provide a superior working environment for our people," says Paul Masschelin, senior vice-president of finance and administration for Imperial Oil.

The first wave of employees will transfer to the Quarry Park location in 2014.  The remainder of Calgary’s Imperial Oil staff is projected to make the move by 2016.
