City of Moncton commissions first Indigenous public art installation
Moncton City Council approved the design of an outdoor public art piece at its regular public council meeting on May 21.  The winning piece, Spirit of Reconciliation, is the first Indigenous installation to be commissioned under the City’s Percent for Public Art Policy, which designates one per cent of the cost of capital projects, to a maximum of $200,000 per project, to fund public art.  Designed by Brian Francis, a Mi’kmaq artist from Elsipogtog, and Fredericton artist Jean Hudson, ...
