Come create with us this weekend. Make a beautiful flower clay bowl with our talented arts instructor. Family and Adult workshops available

Create a beautiful clay flower bowl using slab techniques. The bowls will be glazed by us and ready to pick up in the office around 3 weeks after the workshop.

Cost is per project make one together or register each person to create your own. Maximum of 2 people per registration as space is limited in the studio.

Sights Unseen

Come see something you have never seen before! This show showcases the unique artwork of eight students, recent graduates of Dehai Wang Art Studio. For over 10 years Dehai Wang has instructed local students on making art. Previous graduates have gone on to become professional artists and art teachers. One graduate is a successful commercial designer who's work includes designing covers for Vogue magazine, another teaches art at a local high school.

One student, Luyi Wang, whose work can be seen in this show, was recently accepted at the Parsons School of Design with a substantial cash scholarship.

"Coming from China I knew nothing about contemporary art. I was encouraged to create something new, something unique. I began by exploring the cultural traditions of Chinese calligraphy and colours. After seeing the work of Jackson Pollock I realized I could create a new language of drawing and incorporate that into environmental sculptures of light and form. I developed a unique personal artistic style of multiple material layers of light and cast shadows. Making art is how I how I bring positive light to the world."

Everyone has the potential to be an artist - the best teachers find that potential, enabling their students to create something the world has never seen.

Bring-a-buddy is back again in our pottery studio drop-in this May for our 50th anniversary! Vouched SAS pottery drop-in members can bring one friend to join them during drop-in hours. Buddies can be experienced potters or have little to no experience at all! As long as buddies purchase a drop-in ticket, they are free to join you in creating art together.

Requirements:
• SAS member must be vouched pottery drop-in member
• Buddy must purchase a drop-in ticket

Come paint small dishes with us! Trinket dish, spoon rest, teabag holder, the possibilities are endless. Amazing underglaze artist Emma Mayer with teach you a variety of techniques of how to paint with underglaze on bisque ware dishes. Each registration gets five premade handcrafted dishes. Sign up as a family and paint one or two each, or sign up each person and paint them all yourself.
