March Break has arrived for many of you!

Remember, March break is a great time to schedule an appointment for your dental cleaning and check-up.

If you are in town for the break you can find some fun events going on in and around the city during March Break you can visit these sites: toronto.com and about.com.

The first day of Spring is March 20th this year and many around the office can't wait. This is a great time of year to add a lunch time walk and stretch into your routine. Incorporating exercise into your day refreshes your mind, helps your body and improves the second half of your work day.

March is Nutrition Month

This year's Nutrition Month theme is;
Stay active. Eat like a champion.

The Dietitians of Canada website is a great place to start learning about Nutrition Month as well as healthy living habits that can be used to make this your healthiest year ever. For more information about heath month visit this link.
Wishing you a healthy and safe February,

The team at the Dental Centre in Square One

What does your smile say about you?
Has your smile dulled over the years?
Have years of smoking, drinking coffee, tea, wine etc, discoloured your teeth?

Fortunately, dentistry has a solution for your yellowing teeth! Tooth whitening has become a popular exercise with the rise of personal appearance television shows and over the counter solutions.

What are some causes of
Tooth Discolouration?
  • Drinking coffee, tea, wine or soft drinks stains teeth
  • Natural aging - the dentin underneath the enamel of a tooth darkens
  • Smoking or any tobacco use stains teeth
  • Accidents - a dead nerve will darken a tooth
  • Root Canal Therapy

For Your Winning Smile
So we're a nation full of hockey players. Early morning practices, interesting smelling hockey bag, and missing teeth. Damaged teeth are a common injury in our sporting youth and adults.

Most sporting leagues demand that participants wear appropriate safety equipment such as helmets, face masks, back and shoulder protection etc. Yet for some reason it's up to the participant to choose to protect their teeth.

Mouth guards are an effective way to keep your smile in place and offer increased facial protection, should you choose to "take one for the team".

If you play hockey or most sports for that matter you should speak to me about creating a properly fitted mouth guard. I can't guarantee that you'll keep your winning record, but I can help you protect your winning smile.
