Let's Get Social

0 “It’s so beautiful to see our Year 6 students enjoying the responsibility of caring for our little visitors from Footprints next door and helping them with their craft and reading,” said CCGS Library Technician Leah Rose, who organised our National Simultaneous Storytime event today. Everyone shared ‘Bowerbird Blues,’ Aura Parker’s moving story of longing and connection, then buddies paired up to read together. Enchanted by the most exquisite display, they created their own bowerbird nests. #simultaneousstorytime #simultaneousstorytime2024 #centralcoastgrammarschool #centralcostnsw #lovereading
0 Recently a team of Year 10 students participated in the Senior Ethics Olympiad, learning crucial skills including communication, critical thinking and the appreciation and expression of alternative points of view. This competitive yet collaborative event connects teams of students from different schools online to analyse and discuss real-life and timely ethical issues, and come up with the best possible answer to difficult moral questions. It differs from a debate in that students are not assigned opposing views; rather, they defend whatever position they believe is right and win by showing that they have thought more carefully, deeply, and perceptively about the situation in question. Congratulations to our young Eth-letes - you are our future in a world where media conversation often whips up confusion and outrage rather than generating understanding. #reallifelearning #ethics #centralcoastgrammar #centralcoastnsw
0 131 students from Years 8 - 12 participated in the Education Perfect Language Championships. CCGS ranked in the top 5% globally out of 2032 schools. There were some exceptional individual results, including Chelsee (10035 points), Amelie (7285 points) and Miranda (3107 points). Such a great opportunity for our students to expand their knowledge whilst competing on the international stage. #centralcoastgrammar #centralcoastnsw #languages #languagestudy
