Today Tarion releases its 2024 New Home Buyers Report, a snapshot of new home purchasing in Ontario. First launched last year, the 2024 report explores what Ontario’s consumers are looking for in a new or pre-construction home and how they’re navigating the complex home buying journey in an evolving marketplace. Highlights of this year’s report: ◼️ Compared to the previous year, approximately 25% fewer consumers in Ontario were considering buying a new home in the next 12 months ◼️ The number of Ontarians considering a new or pre-construction home decreased by about 34% year-over-year ◼️ Consumers are waiting longer to buy: two-thirds (66%) of respondents said they were considering a new or pre-construction home purchase within the next six to 12 months, an increase of five percentage points over the previous year.
