March 2, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the journey of Dehiowita Tamil Mahavidyalayam, as the school unveiled its new science laboratory and classroom facilities in a grand opening ceremony. This momentous occasion was made possible through the generous funding by the Canadian Tamil Congress, collected during the 15th annual Tamil Canadian Walk.

On the 22nd of February, 2024, a significant stride was made towards economic sustainability and job creation in Thiraimadu, Batticaloa, with the inauguration of the Canada-Batticaloa Friendship Farm, Kail T Rajah Project.
