Great place for child/teenage family
Excellent boats, kayaks, canoes etc. Great dock and water for jumping and diving - easy ladder to get out. Quiet airconditioning! Lots of games, interesting books. Full kitchen with dishwasher. Double screened entries to keep bugs out with auto closing doors. Well designed and thought of cottage. Old cottage but updated for modern cottaging.

About the host

Host profile image
Family owned cottage near our childhood home. We looked after this cottage on behalf of other owners for many years and later bought it.

Why they chose this property

This area is close to amenities, and well serviced, yet has a truly removed-from-it-all feel. Lots of great boating right at the dock. Sparrow Lake is only five minutes down stream. Georgian Bay, Lake Couchiching, and all the other great places on the Trent-Severn are close by. The Torrance Barrens is a 20-minute drive. The private Muskoka Wildlife Park is 10-minutes away. The cottage is about 100 years old and was originally on of several built along the river by a group of friends who all worked at Simpsons-Sears in downtown Toronto.

What makes this property unique

It's so wonderful to wake up in the morning and sit out on the porch and enjoy breakfast while looking over the river and the birds and wildlife. Later in the day we have a choice to go biking, hiking, or boating right from the cottage.
