By the time your child is two or three, they will start noticing neighbor kids and older siblings riding their bikes. “Why can’t I ride a bike,” they’ll ask. Well, they can! The award-winning YBikes are just for children aged 2-4, and give children the freedom of bike-riding while building crucial gross motor skills.

YBikes are different than any other kind of bike on the market right now. They don’t have pedals, so younger children have no problem motoring it themselves. The lack of pedals also helps children build valuable skills because they put so much direct work into making the bike move. In fact, studies found that using the bike several times a week improved balance and coordination in kids, as well as increasing physical self-confidence. Lastly, children who used the YBike found it easier to transition to “real” bikes without training wheels. Who knew one bike could do this much?

All these improvements have not gone unnoticed. Although quite new, the YBike line has won the SABS design award. This prestigious award measures design across all kinds of products, not just toys. In the field of toys, the YBike has also won the Oppenheim Award, one of the most prestigious toy awards in the United States.

My daughter was really excited to try out the YBike, because she has been bugging me for weeks to get her a bike like all the other kids on the block. The bike was the perfect size for her and she loved tooling up and down the block in it. It was light-weight enough for her to maneuver by herself, which gave her lots of confidence. Also, without any tricky pedals, she had no problem getting where she wanted to go.

As a parent, I loved the YBike. The look of it was very aesthetically pleasing, and it’s easy to see why it has won awards for its design. It was a pretty compact design as well, making it easy to store in a corner of the living room or coat closet. The wheels were chunky and sturdy, and the whole structure seemed built to last. I definitely feel safe with my daughter on one of these YBikes.

And with good reason: the YBike has tons of safety features. The front wheels are designed for wide turns, so they won’t tip over. The largeness of the wheels also absorbs more impact on bumpy or uneven surfaces. Lastly, the back wheels are covered and the seating is placed more forward on the bike so kids can stretch their legs out without hurting themselves on the wheels.

For children aged 2-4, there is no better outdoor toy than the YBike Original. Its bright colors, sleek design and great safety features make this bike a great looking and safe ride. The special construction helps children build self-confidence and motor skills while still having a blast. Plus, it grows with them and will be fun until they’re ready to make the transition to a “big kid” bike. The YBike Original is the must-have toy for any house with a toddler.

  1. The YBike is great! My grandaughter loves it and finds it easy to use. It’s very stable, and not ruined if it gets left outside in the Seattle rain.
I do recommend that you put a bike helmet on your daughter. Our rule is if you’re riding anything outside, you wear a helmet -started my kids very early and we never had problems getting them to wear helmets as they grew older.
