Your physiotherapist will use internal and external techniques to thoroughly assess the pelvic floor and surrounding structures. Treatment typically includes a combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercises and education.
If you have extended health coverage for physiotherapy, pelvic health sessions will be covered. You do not need a referral for, although some insurance companies may require a physician’s referral for reimbursement.

Founder of ActiveCare Physiotherapy and Rehabiliation Centre, graduated from D'Youville College with an Honours Bachelor of Science, Master of Science in Physiotherapy (BSMS) in 2005. Leah furthered her expertise by returning to D'Youville and graduating with a Doctorate in Physiotherapy (DPT) in 2007.
Leah holds a membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Ontario Physiotherapy Association and the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario.
Front office manager and health care billing coordinator. Dealing with all the clinics day to day operations and ensuring every patient has a good experience at the clinic. Emily graduated from Brock University with a degree in Political Science.
Stephanie graduated from D’Youville College with Honours in 2017 with a major in Exercise and Sports Studies and a minor in Nutrition. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at D’Youville College and graduated in 2020.
Stephanie has continuing education in acupuncture and is fully certified in pelvic floor physiotherapy (Levels 1-3). She has worked in Niagara within general orthopaedics and believes an important component of patient care is incorporating a holistic approach focusing on manual therapy and exercise for better outcomes and achieving goals.
Kari graduated from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2009. Kari then attended D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY where she graduated with a Doctorate in Physiotherapy (DPT) in 2013.
Kari holds a membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Ontario Physiotherapy Association and is in good standing with the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario.
Dr. Dina has always had a passion for helping others, which sparked her interest in pursuing a career in chiropractic. She earned her chiropractic degree at D'Youville University in Buffalo, where she completed clinical rotations at the University of Buffalo Neurosurgery, Western New York Imaging, and Erie County Medical Center. Also, she holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry (Honours) from Brock University in St. Catharines.

Born and raised in Niagara, Meghan began her nursing career 13 years ago and has recently brought her passion for health, fitness, and cosmetics to ActiveCare. After graduating from Practical Nursing in 2009, she completed her Medical Aesthetics and Laser Technician Diploma at Looks Aesthetic Academy in Toronto and was recently accredited in Cosmetic Injectables in 2021. Meghan's primary focus is helping clients look and feel their best by addressing their unique skincare concerns and creating individualized plans to achieve their goals. She specializes in skin rejuvenation of the face and body, striving to restore confidence and youthfulness by accentuating natural beauty.

You do not need a doctor's referral to attend our clinic for any of our services. However, if you are submitting your invoices to your insurance company they may require that you have a doctor's prescription for certain services.
Extended health care, motor vehicle accidents and WSIB claims are all accepted here. We also accept credit card and debit payments. We are not an OHIP clinic - our services will not be covered by OHIP. The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care only provides coverage for people under 19 and over 65 years of age, and these services can only be provided at one of the few designated OHIP-funded clinics.
We do direct bill most insurance companies, however some do not accept online submissions, therefore you should always be prepared to pay upfront.
All injuries are specific to their type and time line. The more work you put in at the clinic and at home, the better you will get!
