At the age of twelve Chris discovered the thrill of driving competitively in Karting. In his
first year of competition he won both Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Junior Driver honours. That same year he placed 3rd overall
at the IKF Canadian Grand Nationals and 2nd in the Region 8 series championship. From Karts Chris moved up
to WSR (World Sports Toyota) where he found the top step on the podium several times including: 9 wins, 6 poles,
and 1st overall in series championship over three seasons of racing. In 2002, Chris entered his first open wheel race,
during Round 4 of the 2002 Fran-Am 2000 North American Pro Championship where he qualified 10th, and finished with a
very respectable 6th place finish.
