Other People's Music...

There are so many great songs already written, so much Other People's Music, that one could spend a lifetime or two just trying to learn any significant portion of it all. Trail Mix and Bridges are collections of other people's music — songs I have sung and played for a long time. I hope they elicit smiles of recognition and familiarity, and perhaps provide an introduction to some writers and music you may not have discovered yet.

I thought of calling both these albums Dancing with the Stars, because a lion's share of the music is performed by, and with, fine professional musicians. But ultimately I decided on other titles. Trail Mix speaks to the eclectic mix of music on both albums, and Bridges seemed an appropriate title for the times we're living in, times that clearly call for bridges of all sorts: cultural, social, and of course, musical.
