McGarrity, Irene Lillian (Stock) March 29th, 1947 – March 26th, 2009
It is with great sadness over our loss and with joy that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and an amazing friend to so many after a long fight with cancer. Jesus took her hand and Irene went home with him surrounded by her husband and all three of her children. It was an early 62nd birthday present for her.
Throughout this battle and challenge, Irene showed great dignity, courage and strength. She always had a happy face and never let on the pain she endured. This pain has now ended and for that we are very grateful.
Irene leaves behind her soul mate of more than 40 years, David, whose love only deepened since high school when they met; her children and children-in-law: Sean and wife Shelley, Mark and wife Julie, Tara and husband Mike; and her grandchildren: Isaac, Taylor, Courtney, Lillian, Leigha and Katelyn; and her brother David and his wife Dianne Stock.
God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be,
So he closed his arms around you
And whispered, “Come to me”
Your golden heart stopped beating,
Your gentle hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best!
In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away;
Our hearts were almost broken
You fought so hard to stay;
But, when we saw you sleeping
So peacefully from the pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
