Welcome to Milton Curling Club

 It is our pleasure to announce Glenn Taylor as the recipient of the 2023/24 Volunteer Recognition Award

Glenn has been a member of the club for 20 years and served on the board of directors for 6 years from 2017-2023. As President, he led the Board through three seasons that were impacted by the COVID crisis including one year when the club was completely shuttered. Through this entire period, he spent countless hours communicating with all members on the Board’s efforts to address the myriad of Covid issues. While all Board members made substantial contributions during this crisis, the value of Glenn’s thoughtful and patient leadership cannot be overstated.Also, during his term as president, he helped guide the Board through the challenging project of selecting and installing a new ice plant

Glenn has also made significant contributions as Events Chair. He was instrumental in bringing commentators to the COGECO tapings of club curling games and also acted as one of the first commentators. Glenn had a hand in introducing the stick bonspiel and the doubles bonspiel and was a driving force in the organization and execution of many other bonspiels including the Town & Country. I believe he may have introduced karaoke as a replacement for more expensive live entertainment at the T&C.

Even before Glenn joined the board, he was always willing to assist and help fellow curlers, including supporting his spouse Sandra during her own term on the Board including a term as club President.
