About the OCIMAE

The Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (OCIMAE) was established in 1984 by the Departments of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa, both located in the city of Ottawa, Ontario. The Institute was established to combine the research strengths of the two departments and to give students access to the professors, courses, and facilities at both universities. Students register at the university with which their supervisor is affiliated but have access to the classes and facilities at both universities.

Although the primary language of the Institute is English, some courses in the Institute’s programs may be offered in French at the University of Ottawa, which is a bilingual university. Academic requirements for these courses may be met either in French or in English, however your thesis must be completed at the university in which you are registered.

Programs

The OCIMAE offers Master’s (M.A.Sc. and M.Eng.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) in various areas of research.
