In addition to his work at Scaled Purpose, Sean is the Executive Director of Union Co-operative which buys residential and commercial properties in Waterloo Region for permanent affordability through community ownership. He is an instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University in non-profit management and social entrepreneurship, and a board member for the Canadian Co-operative Investment Fund.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Sustainability Management at the University of Waterloo where he researches the governance and financial strategies of community organizations. Sean was a 2021 Bertram Scholar, a research award provided by the Institute of Corporate Director’s Canadian Foundation for Governance Research, and Sean received the 2019 Lamaire Co-operative Studies Award from Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada.
