Feb 17, a couple of good friends got married.  Here are some of the photos.  It was a really nice wedding, an excellent balance of formal and not too stuffy, but what would you expect from East Coast and West Coast people?

Events

July 28, 2007, Special Olympics Baseball Tournament

Teams from the area (Perth, Kingston, Renfrew, Ottawa, and others) came to play in a baseball tournament.  The weather didn't cooperate very well, especially in the morning (very wet!) but the teams played on anyway.  As usual everyone had a great time!  Some photos from the afternoon games can be seen here.

May 2007, Ottawa Special Olympics Parliament Walk/Run event

May 13, 2007 Parliament Hill was the host for the Special Olympics Walk/Run 5km event.  The day was cool in the morning but warmed up nicely for the walk/run.  This is the second event I've had the privilege to photograph for the Ottawa Special Olympics and this one was as enjoyable as the first.  Mayor O'Brien and Senator Munson both participated, with Senator Munson walking the route.  The National Anthem was sung (very well) by Caitlin Mathews and Jacob Mathews led the group with the Special Olympic Athlete Oath.  See the pics here.

April 2007, Ottawa Special Olympics Figure Skating show

April 15, 2007 at Minto Skating Arena in Ottawa saw the Ottawa Special Olympics participants show their skills at figure skating.  It was the first time I have been to an event such as this and it was quite the event.  Everyone had a great time, especially the athletes.  The participants included both kids and adults performing solo and in groups.  Don Jackson made a special appearance.  Click here to see the photos from the event.

2006 Ontario Summer Games, August 2006

In August 2006, I had the opportunity to be one of several people photographing the 2006 Ontario Summer Games.   My assignment was the Opening Ceremonies and the BMX event.  You can see the photos of the Opening Ceremonies here, the BMX event here, and some of the many volunteers here.

Ottawa Safety Council, 2006 Shannonville Track day, 4 Sept 2006

Labour Day, Monday Sep 4, 2006, saw another track day sponsored by the Ottawa Safety Council.  These track days are right after the final round of the Amateur races and the professional marshalls stick around to help with the day.  The marshalls make sure the day is safe and sane.  There is an ambulance for those that decide to end their day in a painful manner, but it is very infrequently used.

Click here for photos from the day.  These are NOT the photos from Flair photo, just mine.  Clicking on the link shows the full image (3008x2000 pixels, JPG format, totally unprocessed).  They are free for the taking.  I would appreciate credit if you use them for anything other than personal use, however.

These photos are from the 2005 Ottawa Safety Council track day.  Again, these are not Flair photo's shots, just mine.
