Mike Dodd and Karch Kiraly won the AVP Jose Cuervo Arizona Open.  It was the 15th win for Mike Dodd, the 24th win for Karch Kiraly, and the 1st win for the team.

Janice Harrer and Jackie Silva won the WPVA Flamingo Hilton/Diet Pepsi Phoenix Open.  It was the 17th win for Janice Harrer, the 30th win for Jackie Silva, and the 1st win for the team.

Borger-Ittinger, Grimalts win Beach Pro Tour gold in Xiamen, China
Karla Borger and Sandra Ittinger of Germany and Esteban and Marco Grimalt of Chile won the respective titles Sunday at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge in Xiamen, China. The USA came up medal-less after Chase Budinger and Miles Evans lost in the men’s bronze-medal match. Second-seeded Borger and Ittinger beat ninth-seeded Swiss Olympians Anouk Verge-Depre and Joana Mader 22-20, 21-14.

USC gets top NCAA beach vollyball seed; UCLA is No. 2, followed by Stanford, FSU
Five-time NCAA-champion USC is the top seed in the NCAA’s National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship that begins Friday in Gulf Shores Alabama. And the only other team that has won the crown, UCLA, is the No. 2 seed. The 17-team bracket was announced Sunday morning and the at-large bids went to UCLA, Stanford, Cal Poly, Cal, Long Beach State, LSU, Arizona State and Washington.

One USA pair — Budinger and Evans — remain in Xiamen Challenge beach tourney
There is one USA pair left in the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge in Xiamen, China. Fourth-seeded Chase Budinger and Miles Evans, who won in Haikou, China, in 2023, play 21st-seeded Frenchmen Youssef Krou and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat in one of Sunday’s semifinals, while second-seeded Lukas Pfretzschner and Sven Winter of Germany play Marco and Esteban Grimalt of Chile.

NCAA volleyball: USC, Hawai’i, LMU win beach automatic bids; men’s championship update
Once again it came down to USC vs. UCLA. Top-seeded USC came through the contenders bracket Friday to beat third-seeded Stanford and then second-seeded UCLA to win the final Pac-12 Championship. Hawai’i beat Long Beach State to win the Big West. Loyola Marymount beat Pepperdine and won the West Coast Conference.

All the info on the NCAA’s 2024 National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship
148 percent. That’s how much NCAA women’s beach volleyball has grown over the past 10 years. The 2013-14 season had 39 teams. In 2023-24 that total is up to 97 teams, all with the same end goal: Win a national championship. Seventeen teams will be selected for the 2024 National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship. The field will be announced Sunday, April 28, on NCAA.com and play begins Friday, May 3.

David Ahman & Jonatan Hellvig are the new number one team in the men’s FIVB Beach Volleyball World Ranking! After winning gold at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Tepic Elite16 last week in Mexico, the 22-year-old Swedes dethroned Norway’s Anders Mol & Christian Sorum, who had been on top of the chart for 82 consecutive weeks, since October 3, 2022.
