About CCSAR

Welcome to Central Cariboo Search and Rescue

Volunteers from the Williams Lake, BC area provide assistance to the RCMP, Coroner and BC Ambulance services with: Assisting motor vehicle accident victims, searching for missing persons, locating missing aircraft, assisting at disaster scenes such as; fires, floods and landslides, and helping agencies who provide emergency support for disaster victims. Our volunteers are highly trained and dedicated in providing a multitude of services. Central Cariboo Search and Rescue responds locally, regionally and provincially.

The Central Cariboo Search and Rescue unit is funded jointly by the taxpayers of areas D, E, F, and G of the Cariboo Regional District and the City of Williams Lake, BC. This funding provides a building in Williams Lake, emergency vehicles, equipment, training and operating expenses. This type of funding was overwhelmingly supported by the citizens of this area in a November 1996 referendum.
