Muskoka Chautauqua is a not-for-profit organization fostering arts and culture, culminating in a summer festival in the historic village of Windermere.

August 2–11, 2024

Muskoka Chautauqua is a community for the curious and creative.

Springing from a tradition that started 100 years ago, when the village of Windermere attracted North America’s leading thinkers to its shores, Muskoka Chautauqua is one of the longest-running and more iconic cultural institutions in the region.

SUMMER 2023 FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

In 2023, Muskoka Chautauqua had the great honour of presenting Arts & Culture programming for ten days, in beautiful and historic Windermere Village, Muskoka, Canada.

Set outside, surrounded by nature and steps away from Lake Rosseau, summer 2023’s diverse programming included visual arts workshops, musical performances, documentary film screenings and discussions, authors’ panels, lectures, movement and meditation classes, and an art gallery in the woods.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to be the Artist-in-Residence at Cleves this year! It was an amazingly rich and rewarding experience.. Going with the flow each day, meeting wonderful students and meeting the team at Muskoka Chautauqua. THANK YOU
C.H.

Thank you for the experience you gave us of Muskoka and Chautauqua and cranberries and the enchanting Wasan Island and a real autumn too—all in such a very short time!

You provided another new dimension of Chautauqua which brought us home deepened and inspired to continue our Chautauqua work with fervor!
