ABOUT US

PDQ Flyers is a model aircraft club with about 100 members. All of us have a love of aircraft and flying, in all its forms. This includes building - both scale and non-scale models, and flying. Whether float planes, historic warbirds, aerobatics, 3D (stunt flying), helicopters, or totally made up things that fly because they have an airfoil and a propeller. One of our members even flies Snoopy's dog house!

The club holds monthly meetings to discuss club business and activities. The club meeting schedule is being adjusted for 2023, to allow for daylight meetings during winter months. The new schedule will be posted in early Janaury. When weather permits, club meetings are held at the flying field. At all other times, we meet indoors.

Indoor meetings are typically held in Parksville, Parksville Community Centre, 223 Mill St. Room 110.

Check this news posting for the 2023 meeting schedule.

LEARN TO FLY

Historically, enthusiasts learned to fly in public parks, farmers fields, or wherever they like. Changes to regulations in Canada mean, for the most part, flying at a location of your choosing is no longer legal. A MAAC affiliated flying club, such as ours, is the best choice for learning to fly.

Within our club are a number of volunteers who offer their time as instructors. Whether your interest is airplanes, helicopters, or multi-rotor copters ('drones'), our club can help you learn to fly and navigate the new Transport Canada laws and regulations.
