Whether your tale takes place in a single room, or across the globe, your story’s locations are just as important as your characters and your plot.
Normally, your story’s needs dictate the locations used, but, what happens if the locations are established first? Can you write a scene or story based on the Where instead of the Who and the Why?
Pick your locations
There are three locations to choose from:
A Bunker, a Mausoleum and an Extravagant Hall
Use one, use two or use all three; as long as at least one features prominently. You get extra points if you can use them all!
With the setting set, why not randomly apply some other details and see if you can work with them? How about something for character creation from the Personality Gen, and a suggestion for your writing from the Murphy’s Law Gen?
You can use the results from those two Gens however you like, with as many as you like!
Your task: write a story of at least 10,000 words by the end of the month.
Submitting your story:
Be sure to include the generated results where possible so that we can see what you were working with. Please include a name with your story (real or a username) and age (or age range), and let me know if you’re happy for me to share/quote your story. (Your story belongs to you though; I’m not going to run off with it! :D)
You must mention whether your story is NSFW or includes sensitive themes, gore/violence, etc. Give your story an age rating if necessary!
Sharing your story:
Upload your story to your preferred service then share the URL. Post the link on your social media accounts and include the hashtag #RangenWritingChallenge, so the world can read your story! Don’t forget to tag me!

Or, use content-sharing sites like Wattpad, Tumblr, Commaful if you’d like to upload AND share with the world at the same time.
