Meet Trevor Robinson

Hello my name is Trevor Robinson and I am a candidate in the 2018 municipal election to serve as Councillor for Ottawa’s Ward 7, Bay Ward.

During the 2018 municipal elections, did you know that as a voter, you have more opportunities to vote than simply on the actual voting day (October 22)?

In addition to the actual voting day on Monday, October 22nd, there are also four special advance voting days (October 4-7, which includes a weekend) and one traditional advanced voting day (October 12th). That’s a total of six days you can vote, including weekend AND evening hours.

Regardless of which day you decide to vote on, I hope that you will make it out to vote.

According to figures from the City of Ottawa, voter turnout in Bay Ward for the 2010 election was 51%, dropping to just under 43% for 2014. Though Bay Ward had higher voter turnout than many other wards, it did not have the highest turnout – higher voter turnout is always welcomed.

In the event that you’re unable to make it out to any of the voting days, you can appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. There is more information located on the city’s election website.

When you cast a ballot, you’re not just deciding who will represent your interests at the council table, you are also deciding who you want to be making decisions that may affect your community for decades to come. If you’re looking to vote for a candidate who thinks beyond the next election, look no further than Trevor Robinson.
